In pursuit to the BAGAIA Technical Committees (TC1 & TC2) meeting held on the 24th of November 2020 virtually an attendant achievement in the production of the BAGAIA Safety Regulations 2021 (First Edition), this led to her first physical technical meeting on November 8th to the 12th 2021, in Accra, Ghana. Agenda items discussed were, adoption of the agenda, recap of the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Technical Committee (TC2), review BAGAIA Policy and Procedures Manual, review TC1 & TC2 working programmes, etc. In conclusion, when a BAG Member State shall delegate an investigation to BAGAIA, this Policy and Procedures Manual when approved by all Commissioners shall be used by BAGAIA to conduct the investigation.

The conference of the 6th Commission Meeting of the Banjul Accord Group Accident Investigation Bureau (BAGAIA) took place on 12th-15th July 2021.  After the opening courtesies, the meeting was declared opened by the Commissioner of BAGAIA Charles Irikefe Erhueh. In attendance for the meeting were all commission members of BAGAIA from Cabo Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone was represented by Commissioner Olubumi Wellington of the SL-AAIIB. Some of the agenda discussed for sixth commission meeting; Presentation and briefing of BAGAIA Secretariat, Member States briefing and presentations, review of the recommendations made by the forth commission, recruitment of BAGAIA Technical Support/Training Director, and BAGAIA Safety Investigation Regulations.

The Nigeria Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau (N-AIB) had an interactive session with the SL-AAIIB on 15th to 18th of June 2021. The session was geared towards request from Sierra Leone for technical assistance for the setting up of the SL-AAIIB from the Nigeria AIB. The objective of the meeting was to get an overview of the Accident Investigation Bureau of Nigeria and the milestone achieved by the Nigeria AIB, the scope of the project to be used as terms of reference of the establishments of the SL-AAIIB.

Banjul Accord Group Accident Investigation Agency (BAGAIA) visited Sierra Leone based on a signed MOU to establish an Independent Accident Investigation Bureau in the first quarter of 2021. The Sierra Leone Minister of Transport and Aviation together with key stakeholders in Aviation, welcomed the delegates and assured them that The Government of Sierra Leone will give full support to the establishment of the Accident Investigation Bureau. On the second day of their visit, the team of delegate had a session with the focal person of Accident Investigation (AIG) at the SLCAA in reviewing the Civil Aviation Act 2019 PART IX, Aircraft Accidents and Incidents Investigations.
